Product Care Guide
Instructions on caring for your Markerboards, Markers, and Erasers.
 Tips:
Personalize your erasers using stickers, stamps or free-hand drawings!
Keep sharp objects away from your markerboard surface.
Try not to leave the marker on the board for too long (it could make cleaning difficult).
Always store your markers flat with the caps on securely.
Supervise young children using the markers to prevent stains on clothes and other materials.
Markerboards:

You have purchased a markerboard with the highest quality dry-erase surface available. However, with use, the surface may appear stained. Here are some simple methods to clean your board:

  • Use dry-erase cleaner. (We highly recommend our low-odor, non-toxic, Evan's White Board Brite).
  • Use non-acetone fingernail polish remover on a soft cloth or paper towel. This low-cost method is best for tough stains.

If you accidentally use a permanent marker or wet-erase marker on your dry-erase surface, try these cleaning methods:

  • Wipe the stain with a soft, damp cloth (the tougher the stain the wetter your cloth may need to be).
  • Mark over the stain with one of your dry-erase markers, let it dry, and then erase it.
  • Try water or a non-abrasive spray cleaner on a soft cloth.
Markers:

The markers you just purchased are currently the best markers available. They have a three year shelf life, and they tend to twice as long as typical dry-erase markers.

You want to get the maximum life from your markers. It is vital that you follow these instructions, so your makers will last a long time.

  • When you are not using your markers, place the cap on securely and lay them down flat. Do not store the markers upright; they will dry out quickly. (For example, don't place them in a pencil cup.)
  • Don't bang the tip of the marker on the board. Doing so will fray the felt tip.

Also, when using your markers, remember these tips.

  • Although no dry-erase markers are "washable" (see the next point), these will wash off of hands with soap and water.
  • All dry-erase markers are indelible on cloth materials. They can make a permanent stain on your clothes, carpet, upholstery, etc.
Erasers:

Your erasers are virtually indestructible. They're also easy to care for.

With use, your erasers will build up a residue from the dry-erase material. To clean the felt, simply:

  1. Wash by hand with soap and water,
  2. Rinse well,
  3. Remove the excess water by blotting on a towel, and
  4. Allow them to air dry.
